Packing Boxes of Beauty
The Christmas holidays are fast approaching. That means gift giving – a task which often proves elusive to men. What to get for the wife, girlfriend, or mum? She doesn’t eat a lot of chocolate and clothes are always dangerous. Do not fear, sir – every woman loves beauty products. And there’s a great way to give them with class and style. It’s called Spa in a Box.
You’ll need two or three packing boxes to get started. In one you’ll put some new bath linens for her exclusive spa use. No one else in the family gets to use them for any reason. In the second box will be a new, plush robe. Think cotton, guys; silk may be sexy but it’s not good right after a spa treatment. The third box you’ll fill with oils, lotions, scented candles, and other beauty products suggested by the beauty supplies store where you make your purchases.
Get some elegant wrapping paper, white glue, and a pair of sharp scissors to prepare your cardboard boxes. If you can find ones with detachable lids, like document storage boxes, those are the best; if not, regular packing boxes will work.
Dilute some glue with just enough water to give the consistency of craft paint. Then cut a piece of paper to the correct size of one of the boxes’ larger sides. Coat the cardboard with a light film of glue, then apply the paper and quickly smooth out any wrinkles. Use your scissors or a blade to trim the excess. Repeat on the opposite side, then the other two sides, and finally the bottom. Decorate the outside with ribbons or bows, line the inside with tissue paper then arrange the contents for a nice presentation inside.
There you have it – Spa in a Box.

In Finland, the climate is harsh, wood grows more slowly. It is denser and therefore withstand sudden changes in temperature of the sauna. The 4 inner and outer sides of our saunas are paneling.
The walls have a total thickness of 80 mm. They consist of a spruce exterior paneling 15 mm thick thermal insulation with rock wool of 50 mm thick, an aluminum vapor barrier and a paneled interior spruce 15 mm thick. In the saunas of some of our competitors thickness of paneling is only 12.5 mm. They are therefore fragile and will crack quickly. The vapor barrier prevents moisture going into the insulation.
